APA Group (ASX: APA) has entered into a three-year Strategic Partnership Agreement with Siemens Energy, strengthening collaboration across major energy infrastructure projects and supporting Australia’s energy transition.

The agreement establishes a framework for early engagement, innovation and cooperation between APA and Siemens Energy, enabling better access to in-demand equipment, such as large-frame gas turbines, across APA’s national portfolio of gas-fired power generation, renewables and power projects.

This strategic partnership forms an important part of APA’s long-term delivery approach and leverages the common focus of APA and Siemens Energy to improve delivery certainty for critical energy infrastructure.

Siemens Energy is a global energy technology leader with capabilities spanning power generation, transmission, storage and hydrogen solutions. The partnership recognises Siemens Energy’s technical expertise across large-scale energy infrastructure and its growing support of Australia’s energy transition goals.

APA has partnered with Siemens Energy for several years in the delivery and maintenance of remote grid energy infrastructure. This includes maintenance of APA’s North West Power System in Mount Isa, Queensland and assets in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

APA CEO and Managing Director Adam Watson said:

“Siemens Energy is one of the key players in the supply chain supporting the global energy transition. This strategic partnership with Siemens Energy strengthens our ability to deliver Australia’s much needed energy infrastructure in a timely and cost effective way for our customers. It builds on APA’s years of experience in delivering and operating energy infrastructure in partnership with global energy technology leaders."

“Now more than ever before, collaboration is required to bring major energy projects to life.

“Early engagement with key suppliers is also critical to improving delivery outcomes, particularly for long lead items like gas turbines. This partnership supports APA’s growth strategy and will support the delivery of essential energy generation infrastructure needed for long-term energy security and to ensure that Australia maintains energy independence.”

Karim Amin, Executive Board Member of Siemens Energy, added:

“Delivering Australia’s energy transition at pace requires strong collaboration and a balanced approach. Gas power plays a critical role in modern electricity systems, providing reliable power while stabilising the grid and reducing overall CO₂ emissions in the coal-to-gas shift. Partnerships with customers like APA are central to that progress, and we are committed to building on our long-standing cooperation, and powering Australia’s energy needs with our best-in-class turbines and technologies.”
