APA Group has appointed Jane Thomas, an experienced human resources executive and business leader, to the Executive Leadership Team.

Jane will join APA as the Group Executive for People, Safety and Culture from Westpac, where she held a senior leadership role as the General Manager, Human Resources, Consumer, Risk, Financial Crime, Compliance, Legal and Company Secretariat.

Jane’s experience spans energy, mining, banking and finance, fast moving consumer goods, retail and manufacturing and included two Chief Human Resource Officer roles with other top 50 ASX businesses, Newcrest Mining Limited and AGL Limited.

“I am thrilled to welcome Jane to APA Group in this critical role,” APA Chief Executive and Managing Director Rob Wheals said.

“Jane’s appointment will further strengthen the capability of our leadership team as we seek to deliver our refreshed strategy, including a focus on growth markets in Australia and North America.”

Mr Wheals said he looked forward to Jane joining APA to drive the business’ diversity and inclusion agenda, commitments to boosting the number of women in leadership and strengthening APA’s safety performance.

“Jane’s appointment to our executive leadership team will also further strengthen our focus on our culture and business transformation, which are key enablers in our efforts to deliver on our refreshed strategy,” Mr Wheals said.

Jane will start at APA in early May 2021.
