Policy and Regulatory Advisory Committee

APA is committed to embedding quality stakeholder engagement into everyday business. This ensures our actions in the journey towards net zero reflect the views of the customers and communities our assets serve.

In early 2026 we established the Policy and Regulatory Advisory Committee (PRAC) to provide ideas, insight, and feedback, and to challenge APA on a wide range of issues related to the energy transition. This includes:

  • Assisting in improving APA’s understanding of the needs and expectations of different customer segments
  • Collaborating on a range of regulatory and policy issues to help APA and stakeholders form public positions on these issues
  • Providing briefings, advice, and constructive feedback to challenge APA and other group members to increase understanding and improve outcomes and decision making, and
  • Encouraging a culture of continuous improvement at APA.

The PRAC has a broad regulatory and policy scope and sits above APA’s other regulatory stakeholder forums which are established to support five yearly revenue determination and access arrangement processes. The PRAC will perform its role in relation to policy and regulatory issues across all of APA’s assets and functions, as shown in the Terms of Reference.

Terms of Reference

The PRAC terms of reference outlines the matters relevant to the operation of the forum, including:

  • Role of the PRAC
  • Membership
  • Obligations and expectations of both APA and PRAC members

The Terms of Reference was finalised at the first PRAC meeting in March 2026.
