Sustainability and Environmental Impact
The Pilbara is one of the sunniest regions in Australia, receiving more than 4000 hours per year. It just makes sense to use that resource to supply the region’s biggest energy users.
The energy produced by the Chichester Solar Farm is displacing up to 100 million litres of diesel generation annually from the Pilbara, delivering a cleaner, more affordable, and more connected energy supply.
The Nyiyaparli people are the Traditional Owners of the land on which Chichester is located. During construction, Alinta allocated a procurement spend of $4.7 million to Indigenous businesses. APA has a current Native Title Agreement with the Nyiyaparli people and an ongoing commitment to consultation and engagement, as well as providing work experience, employment and contracting opportunities.
