Formal access request

Potential customers do not have to submit a Formal Access Request to gain access to an APA pipeline. If you are interested in acquiring services for this pipeline, you can contact us at the contact details above to discuss your requirements.

For APA's non-scheme pipelines, you have a right to make a Formal Access Request pursuant to Rule 105D of the National Gas Rules. Lodging a Formal Access Request triggers a formal process of Access Offer and information exchange between APA and the potential customer.

You can make a Formal Access Request by completing in full the relevant User Access Request Form and emailing it to commercial.contracts@apa.com.au.

This Supplier Curtailment Methodology is established in accordance with Rule 101B(2)(f) of the National Gas Rules.

Conditions for Curtailment of Covered Gas Injected at Receipt Points:

The service provider may curtail the injection of covered gas at a receipt point if it fails to conform with the gas specification requirements.

We believe gas is essential to accelerate Australia’s transition to renewables and represents the most secure, reliable, affordable and low emissions pathway to decarbonising Australia’s energy system. Investing in our domestic gas resources – like the Beetaloo basin – is key to supporting the energy transition.

The Kinbininggu People, Bamarrngganja People, Warranangku People and Marlinja People are the original custodians of the land and where the SPP project will be located. Our First Nations Engagement Strategy will guide our work with stakeholders such as the Northern Land Council, local Aboriginal communities, and Registered Aboriginal Parties to ensure that Aboriginal people in the project area benefit through employment, training, education, community investment, and compensation agreements.

APA maintains co-operative and respectful relationships with landowners across over 15,000 km of gas transmission pipelines across the country. We are committed to building a similarly positive relationship with the single property owner on the proposed Sturt Plateau Pipeline route.

Community groups and other organisations located in the region surrounding the proposed Sturt Plateau Pipeline are encouraged to apply for funding to support community-led initiatives.
