Port Hedland Power Station

Port Hedland is a 210MW dual fuel (gas and distillate) Power Station located in the Pilbara region of WA, Australia’s largest resource producing region.

Port Hedland consists of five 42MW gas-fired turbine units located in two separate locations. Two units are located at the Boodarie Power Station and three units at the Port Hedland Power Station. APA also owns and operates three high voltage transmission lines which connect the facilities at Boodarie and Port Hedland as well as the Horizon Power-owned North West Interconnected System (NWIS).

APA employees live in the town of Port Hedland, with many engaged in community and sporting activities. We provide career information and opportunities to the local community and support local businesses by using their services to help maintain the power station.
