Michael McCormack

Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director

Michael (Mick) McCormack has been Chief Executive Officer of APA since 1 July 2005 and Managing Director since 1 July 2006. Mick has over 25 years experience in the energy infrastructure sector in Australia, with particular focus on gas pipeline and distribution infrastructure, where he has worked on the development, construction and operation of new and existing pipelines and distribution networks across Australia. 

Mick is Chairman of NT Gas Pty Ltd and a director of Envestra Limited and the Australian Pipeline Industry Association.

Peter Fredricson

Chief Financial Officer

Peter is responsible for all financial aspects of APA, including accounting and financial reporting, financial compliance and governance, taxation, treasury, balance sheet management and capital strategy.  He is also responsible for both Investor Relations and Information Technology.

Peter has considerable expertise in the listed energy infrastructure sector and over 20 years experience in senior financial roles in financial services and investment banking organisations across Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

Ross Gersbach

Group Manager Commercial

Ross has responsibility for all commercial aspects of APA, including sales, strategic development and planning, investment management, corporate development and economic regulation.

Ross has over 20 years experience in senior positions across a range of energy related sectors, covering areas such as infrastructure investments, mergers and acquisitions and strategic developments.

In addition, he has extensive commercial experience and has managed a portfolio of infrastructure assets in the electricity and natural gas distribution network sector.

Stephen Ohl

Group Manager Operations

Stephen is responsible for the operational performance of all APA assets and investments. This includes primary responsibility for the operation, asset management, project development and technical regulation of all pipeline and related assets. 

He has over 35 years experience in the petrochemical, oil and gas and pipeline industries including more than 20 years managing and operating assets now owned by APA.

Stephen holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree and a Graduate Diploma in Management. He is a Member of the Institution of Engineers Australia and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Peter Wallace

Group Manager Human Resources

Peter is responsible for managing the Human Resources function, which covers strategy and activities relating to our people and their employment at APA. 

Peter has filled senior Human Resources roles in Australia as well as in Asia/Pacific and the United States, and has a strong background in business integration and business growth.  He has over 32 years of experience in heavy manufacturing, minerals, steel, steel distribution and related building and construction sectors.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and is a professional member of the Australian Human Resource Institute and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Mark Knapman

Company Secretary

In addition to being responsible for the secretariat function, Mark oversees corporate governance and the legal risk management and financial services compliance functions.

He has extensive experience as a Company Secretary.  He was Company Secretary and General Counsel of an ASX-listed company and Asia Pacific Legal Counsel and Company Secretary for a US multinational company prior to joining APA.  Prior to those roles, he was a partner of an Australian law firm.

Mark holds degrees in law and commerce and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Company Secretaries and is admitted to practice as a solicitor.
